Remember the song lyric “the future's so bright I gotta wear shades”? Well we are getting back into our future space and we are embracing being learners! It is exciting to be back in these bright spaces and places whether it is continuing online or in person to enjoy conferences, classes, and symposia as adult learners. Embracing this, I have safely traversed the nation with such experiences this season. Today, I thought, “what would my word cloud of recent learning experiences include if I were to capture reflections of my own adult learning?” It would look something like:
Thinking of the above, one cannot help but think of solutions and mindsets that make the lives of educators more productive and innovative. In a graduate course I teach we engage in futurist thinking. In fact, it has been one of the exciting learning spaces that I have been immersed in, and enthralled with, during the pandemic. Quite frankly, who could not get excited about this space with words of wisdom from leaders like futurist Rebecca Ryan or grabbing a favorite latte and enjoying The New Leadership Literacies: Thriving in a Future of Extreme Disruption and Distributed Everything? These speak deeply to our shared local and global experience.
Carrying forward inspiration from Bob Johannsen and the New Leadership Literacies , you may find yourself mesmerized by big ideas which include 5 New Leadership Literacies that have become so relevant in our world:
As you think about your current and future state, which of the five leadership literacies speak to you? What have you already experienced? What might you like to try out in your future? Is there something missing from your own wisdom leadership you would like to add?
